and me.Finally finished that Amazing Joy Buzzards pin up. Here it is in glorious black n white.
I’ll keep you posted as to when it comes out. Here’s an image from the new Jingle Belle story I’m working on. Paul Dini posted it on his blog, so I figure I could drop a peek on all (blank) of you who check this out.
I’m really proud of the way it’s turning out. I’m trying something different from the backgrounds, and as I posted a few weeks back, I redesigned Jing a bit. Kinda changed Santa slightly, too. Just slightly.
I’m really excited to screw around with the colors and textures, though I gotta say that it’s cutting into sleep time. My deadline is just around the corner, so I won’t be out much this weekend thru to the next. Then, day after deadline, I’m off to L.A. to kick it with Jim, Dave & Mike. Then go hang with Dini during his wedding celebration, catch my flight back early Sunday morning, and land with three hours to head back to South Holland to pick Sara up and take her to the Jamiroquai concert. Sounds crazy, but I got my reasons. Halloween is for rest. Dress me up as a mummy and let me sleep on the porch.Speaking of Jingle Belle, I found out a couple days ago that the collection finally came out on Oct. 5th. I have no idea why it was delayed, as I didn’t know it was even out. I went to Chicago Comics to see if I could score a copy (haven’t received my comp, either). I was excited, until I couldn’t find it on the shelves. I asked if they had any in stock, and the clerk scoured the store for a copy. He said they have it, just couldn’t find it. He asked if I wanted to leave my name and number so when they find it they could give me a call. Embarassed I said no and left. I felt kind of stupid making the guy look for a book that I should already have (and for free). Halliar has a copy of the book (which he forgets to bring in) and said they did a good job with the production. Cool. I wish I could see it.

Still plugging away at those Jingle Belle pages. Thought I’d be further along, but I’m still not in the danger zone. My head was fucking with me this past weekend, and I found it difficult to sit and focus on what I was working on. I must say- these are the best JB pages I’ve drawn. I guess could post a little teaser….
I get to draw cars and trains and buildings and all kinds of crazy shit I don’t usually draw, so I gets to flex on this.
And it will be in full color.
Saturday the cabin fever was getting to me, along with the usual anxieties that plague my mental. So I had to bounce. Josh called and invited me to go see Hack/Slash, a play based on our friend Tim Seeley’s comic of the same name. It was fun, got splattered with blood, lost a pack of smokes, then kicked it with Josh, Tim and the cast members at at the apartment of one of the actors. Had some good ass cake. Damn (now that I think of it), though I had a good time, it was uneventful. What has become of my life? Oh well, at least I got out and went somewhere besides a bar…
