New website, live art and other nuggets…

Yo!
Don’t know what I’m doing, gotta get my ass in gear to prepare for
Wizard World. I will have a table this year, splitting it with Dave
Crosland (hiredmeat.com)
We are going to have a banging afterparty this year on the 5th. I’m
sure you heard already, I musta sent a cheechillion invites today.
And you’ll hear about it some more until I’m absolutely positive each
and every one of you will show. It sucks because a great deal of
people I was hoping to kick it with won’t be making the treck to the
city of wind this year. Fackin losers.
So, last night I got the idea to do a more professional website for
myself. I haven’t updated my own (josegaribaldi.com) site in like
three/four years, I doubt I’ll ever update it again. Long story.
But the new site-
www.littlebrownheart.com
It’ll have new art (probably nothing done before 05, maybe 04)
But it’ll be a bit of a new start. Time for some new shit. Time to let it
be known.
Last night I finished one side of the afterparty flyer. Plus I did a
banner. check it..

oh yeah, and this isn’t copyrighted by me, either…

My Chemical Romance…

Here’s a cover image I did for what was to be Lo-Fi
magazine issue seven. Unfortunately it will not see print.
R.I.P. Lo-Fi… Thanks to Greg and Josh for giving
me a cover shot, though.

This is not the final version. I had plans to go  back into
it once it was ready for print. This is just the solicitation
version…

Don’t know what I’m going to do with it now. Maybe
rearrange it so it works without having the title space
up top…

I’ve never listened to M.C.R. before. They any good?

Speaking of good, wasn’t Stevie Wonder the illest?

Fhuck.
Talking Book, Innervisions, Music of My Mind,
Songs in the Key of Life, Fulfitti, fulfilli, fulfinni–
fuck it, you know, the good one!

Peace!

Jose G.

p.s. Sorry about the no Scam! this week (or last). More
are coming, I’ve just have some other shit to finish.

Peace to you assholes in San Diego (ie- most of the office)
Hope you dickhaids are having fun. The sky just took a piss
all over us in the MidW.

ain’t no fun….

yeah it is.
I lied.
Painting, drawing, especially for yourself-
tons of fun.

I had a great time last Saturday. Haiku killed it.
Geti killed it. Crucial killed it.
Thanks to these cats for letting me push paint around.
I think these are some of my favorite pieces I’ve ever
done at any of these live art events. If you haven’t been
to one of ’em, stop slacking, come out, support and
have a good time. The deejays are the shit, artists are
the bomb, and everyone is there to have big fun.

Here are the two paintings I did at the Dennehy
realease show, Saturday, July 8fth—

This has got to be the fastest painting I’ve ever done.

I had other plans for this piece while I painted the background.
As I laid down the gray b.g., I thought to do an image resembling
a black and white sticker of some face (or some other dumb shit.)
Then I looked at it, and this appeared to me. That shit sounds crazy,
and I’m not a religious cat, but I swear ‘fo god that’s what happened.
Out of all the pieces I’ve painted live (and off the top of my dome),
this is my favorite. Hams down.
I still want to touch it up, tighten the piece up like Archie Bell
did the Drells.

The weekend before I painted at Untitled on Clark. I didn’t finish
the piece, but plan to go back into it. She’s holding a knife…

never wrong a woman.

The following images are for the front and back covers of
a book I hope to have available next month. It’s called
Wait For Me, and it’s a collection of short stories, sketches,
concept art and character designs.
These images are close to being done, just couldn’t wait
to post them. The line drawings were done three years ago,
hence the specs, shaved head and goatee. And the Hulk pants.
I colored these pages a week ago, so it’s a strange blend of
old and new…

the front…wip

the back… ditto

Hope all is good. This sucka is tired. Don’t believe Intel or Brandy when they ask you out for “one beer”. Boolshet.

Laters!
