Mini Hiatus

Hey all,
Unfortunately, I have no new illustration for you today. I missed one a couple weeks ago, and yet again I’m out another one. My goal for 2016 was a new illustration for every week of the year. I started working on my creator owned comic last week, and I’ve already found myself falling behind on that. Since completing and launching Bombo The Beast is a much bigger priority than the weekly illos, I’m going to play catch up. Once I’ve got everything back on track, I’ll get begin posting new weekly illustrations and Scam. It kind of sucks, but I’m really excited for this comic. Over 25 years in the making. In the meantime, I will continue to post sketches and old art here and on Instagram.

If you’re not following me on Snapchat (cluepac), please do so for behind the scenes art, work in progress and sneak peeks. You can take a photo of the snapcode below to follow.

IHP Annual Report #345- Happy 2016 updates and news

Hey Everybody! Happy Almost 2016!

I did a new drawing today! Something I haven’t been able to do much lately. Even though I draw everyday, it’s rare that I get to do something for myself. 2015 has been a really tough year around here. Not in any bad way, it’s been a great year (well, except for Martin’s two surgeries and a couple gout attacks on my feet), but still it’s been tough in a roller-coaster-y way. Though it’s been filled with many great gigs (see the last two posts), I’m still dying to get a lot of my own work and ideas off the ground. I have a lot planned for 2016, and much of that has already been in the works. This past year, I mostly posted old(er) artwork every week for Throwback Thursday. I think I’m going to continue that next year, but I’ll also be throwing in NEW WORKS on a weekly basis. Really mostly smaller, quicker illustrations tailored for Instagram. Some of these have already been set up and started (I call em pre-baked). Next week, maybe Monday or Tuesday, I’ll post the first of these on Instagram. A new illustration will follow every week thereafter. Score!

Also, this website is currently undergoing some changes. I’ve done a bunch of work to the archives (re-sizing artwork, tagging, etc). I’m also in the process of updating the look and interface of the whole thing. Please bear with me as I scrape away at this project. Hopefully soon it will be nice and shiny and user friendly. I’m updating the portfolio section as well.

I’m still pretty active on social media (mostly Facebook and Instagram). Please check my Social Media List and subscribe, follow, friend, connect, etc…

I have some big things in store next year. I’m nervous as hell about it. Probably about as big as my move to Los Angeles. I’m excited, scared, and optimistic. I can’t wait to share new work with everybody. Thank to everybody for all the love and support! Catch you all next year!

Happy New Year!

Jose

IHP Yearly Dispatch #689 – 20Fifteensies

Hey All-
alo

Yeah it’s been more than a minute. Still designing characters for TMNT , still coloring for Scholastic. MAD Magazine #533 is on the stands, have a 2 page illustration in that. More color work on deck. Just finished some more MAD Magazine goodness. Goosebumps will be out soon. Stan Wenches is fixing to drop some new Cornflakes! on your heads. There is plenty to look forward to. I’ve been sneaking some personal work in here and there. When that’s ready you will know. I’ve also been cleaning hard drives and archiving older work, so I might post some of that in the meantime. Then when the new work is ready, I will post that.  Hope all is good in Internetsville. Don’t forget to follow on Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, Instragrams. I haven’t quite been up on all that, but I update it more frequently than this blog.

Stay UP!
Jose Geezy.

The IHP Register post #882- What it is

Hey doods,

Don’t have much to say right now, just trying to get back in the habit of updating this site. Most of what I’ve been showing has been tossed up on instagram (http://instagram.com/cluepac), Tumblr (http://josegaribaldi.tumblr.com/), Twitter (https://twitter.com/JoseGIHP), and of course, Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/josegee). Be sure to follow if you can. I would mad love you.

I’m still plugging away on TMNT character designs. I’m neck deep in season 3, and my 3 year anniversary is coming up in about a month. How the time, she flies. Anyway, I thought I’d share this little drawing with you. It’s from the Operation: Break Out episode of season 01 (episode 124). Mikey had a dream that he and Donnie were Rodeo Detectives. Some True Detective type shit right there, flat circle and all. It was really great to be able to draw these fools in my style. It’s such an honor to get to work on this show, but to see some straight up Jose G TMNT art on the tv screen damn near tore my head apart.

Hope all is well out there in webworld. I’ll try to stay more up to date, even if it’s brief and I’m just dropping sketches/doodles.

Peace.

Backnesss

yo, slowly but surely getting back to life as it was. I’ve been laying low in my new Los Angeles  home, trying to take advantage of this downtime. I’ve been working on some new comic book stories and pages, a bunch of character designs, and a few cartoon pitches. Sorry to all my friends (both L.A and Chicago) for being a such a hermit. I promise I’ll call soon. In a few I’ll post some sketchbook pages and a couple new pieces.

Also, a sneak of something I’ve been rolling on for myself (and you, of course) more details will come soon.

I’m also looking forward to updating http://fronytail.com again on a regular basis. For those that haven’t checked the site out, Fronytail is my replacement for the weekend sketch. It’s all hair based. And fun.

So that’s a little semi-update, gonna try to post more often than every few months.

Peace!

Jose

Wack.

So, after I spent hours archiving over a hundred posts and after a couple weeks of regular posts, my host migrated my website to a new server and lost everything I just mentioned. Over the next couple weeks I’ll take some time out of each day to archive older posts. Not really a terrible thing, but still sucks for me….

yay.

Lates,
Jose
